Pilot orchestra for asylum seekers and refugees strikes the right chord
Dovetail Orchestra exists to provide a welcoming space for asylum-seekers and refugees, building connections through music and supporting musical learning on a regular weekly basis.
THURSDAYS – 10am – 11:30am: Music Making, 11:30am – 12pm coffee and chat.
EGLWYS DEWI SANT, St Andrews Crescent, Cardiff, CF10 3DD
Everybody from the asylum-seeking and refugee communities in Cardiff and nearby are welcome to join. No musical experience is needed, and all styles of music are welcome, whether you play or sing. Our task is to create new pieces and songs out of what each participant brings to the group.
Helen Woods will be leading the workshops, supported by a group a group of friendly musicians to support everyone’s musical journey.
“Helen Woods is a composer, music animateur, musical director and performer. Compositions include OUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE (from the words of Greta Thunberg) and WATER commissioned for the Vale of Glamorgan Festival.
