Grassroots Hip Hop Jam: A journey through beats, rhymes and time

Grassroots on Charles Street has long been an important centre for culture in Cardiff. In the mid 80s they hosted the first regular Hip hop jams in the city and in a nod to those foundational events we are hosting a special one off return, taking everyone on a journey through time.

Featuring music and performers from every decade since the 1980s and the legendary DJ Jaffa who since playing those original jams has been a corner stone of Hip hop in Wales. We will jump through each decade every 45 minutes so make sure you come early to hear all your favourite classics with many special guest rappers, turntablists and beatboxers.

Curated in conjunction with ‘Hip-hop: A Welsh Story’ at National Museum Cardiff and hosted by Kaptin & Dregz this is a free, very limited ‘invite only’ event but we are offering a handful of guest tickets. Email kaptinbarrett@gmail.com to register your name and join the waiting list.
