Ishmael Ensemble / Immersive Live Performance
Dates(s)
11 Oct 2025
Event Info
Ishmael Ensemble brings their genre-defying blend of jazz, electronica, and experimental sound to CULTVR, accompanied by 360º visuals from 4Pi Productions.
Led by saxophonist and producer Pete Cunningham, the Bristol-based group has carved out a distinct space in the UK music scene, collaborating with artists like Yazz Ahmed and Rider Shafique while earning praise from The Guardian, BBC 6 Music, and Crack Magazine.
Their music moves fluidly between ambient soundscapes, driving rhythms, and raw improvisation, drawing on influences from UK jazz, trip-hop, and club culture. From their breakthrough 2019 debut album A State of Flow to the critically acclaimed 2021 release Visions of Light, and their latest release Rituals, Ishmael Ensemble has continually evolved, crafting deeply textured, cinematic compositions.
This performance places their dynamic sound within a fully immersive environment enhanced by a custom visual score. Layered compositions, live experimentation and a fluid connection between music and moving image will make this shared reality experience a transformative journey.
