Event Info
Get ready for The Saturday Session, where incredible voices unite under one roof. Three bands, one ticket, one unforgettable evening.
Ibibio Sound Machine
Pull the Rope, the latest record by Ibibio Sound Machine, casts the Eno Williams and Max Grunhard-led outfit in a new light. The hope, joy, and sexiness of their music remains, but, further honing the edge of their acclaimed 2022 album Electricity, the connection they aim to foster has shifted venues, from the sunny buoyancy of a sunlit festival to a sweat-soaked, all-night dance club. The atmosphere has changed, but you’re still having the time of your life.
Vieux Farka Touré
Often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara”, Vieux Farka Touré was born in Niafunké, Mali in 1981. He is the son of legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Touré, who died in 2006. He released his most recent album Les Racines in 2022 alongside a collaborative record with Khruangbin, Ali, an album that pays homage to the work of his father with new interpretations of known highlights and B-sides from his back catalogue.
Trio Da Kali
Descending from a long line of distinguished griots (specialist hereditary musicians) in the Mandé culture of southern Mali, these three remarkably gifted artists perform one of Africa’s most subtle and sublime music styles. Trio Da Kali brings a fresh creative twist to ancient sounds, combining voice, ngoni bass, and balafon. They have toured with and recorded an award-winning album with Kronos Quartet. Their new album released in February 2025, Bagola, is their first full-length solo recording. It features creative new approaches to the deep heritage of Malian music, inspired by encounters with other musical styles. Bagola is a showcase of Trio Da Kali’s entrancing and unique sound, only equalled by their magical performances on stage.
