Cardiff Music City Festival returns this October for two weeks of gigs, happenings and installations that harness the power of music and performance to unite and inspire.
The programme features international artists and homegrown talent, with immersive experiences, thought-provoking talks, and unmissable one-off events. The festival will also once again proudly encompass:
• Sŵn – Cardiff’s annual new music festival.
• Llais – Wales Millennium Centre’s international arts festival.
• Welsh Music Prize – celebrating the very best music made in or by Wales.

Cardiff Music City Festival (3-18 October 2025) – a two-week celebration of music that brought global stars, local legends, fresh new talent and thousands of music fans to venues across the city – has wrapped up after a successful second year.

The sense that Cardiff has a long-term commitment to music as an agent of harmony and as a catalyst for change is inspirational – especially in our challenging times. This ambition, being rooted in homegrown creativity and curiosity, also sends out a powerful message. “After a summer of big artists, it’s really exciting for people to have an autumn of intimate discovery,” Huw Stephens says.
