The innovative festival will run from Friday 3 October – Saturday 18 October 2025, bringing together musicians, promoters, and immersive tech specialists from far and wide to create unique collaborations and unmissable one-off events.

Established artists, underground heroes and breakout Wales-based stars will fill a genre-bending programme designed to thrill audiences alongside specially commissioned urban soundscapes, inspiring talks, and industry sessions.

Supported by Welsh Government / Cardiff Council, the festival will feature a series of unique performances, gigs and unexpected happenings in the heart of the Welsh capital over fifteen music-filled days.

The Welsh Music Prize celebrates the finest music made in Wales or by Welsh people around the world.

8 OCTOBER

BBC Cardiff Singer of the World will be bringing an array of world-class singers to Llais for a very special Gala Concert celebrating this internationally renowned competition.

16 – 18 OCTOBER

Set to ignite Womanby Street and beyond with a stacked itinerary for the ravenous new music lover.

16 – 17 OCTOBER

We’ll be hosting discussions, presentations and talks, as well as breakout rooms and workshops with official industry partners. The Sŵn Mentor programme will return, a chance for delegates and conference attendees to discuss the issues and challenges they face with invited industry professionals.

THE 2024 FESTIVAL WRAPPED

In 2024, the inaugural Cardiff Music City Festival took place – lasting 24 days and featuring more than 200 artists and 80 events spread across 25 venues.
