About

Clwb Ifor Bach has long stood as a cornerstone of Cardiff’s vibrant music scene. For over 40 years, this independent venue has been at the heart of Welsh culture, championing emerging talent while nurturing a space where artists, audiences, and the wider community can thrive. Known for bringing the best music from Wales and beyond, Clwb Ifor Bach has built a reputation as a key player in the grassroots music movement and has served as a launchpad for music luminaries such as The Stereophonics, Super Furry Animals, Duffy and The Manic Street Preachers.

But Clwb’s mission extends beyond just live music. In 2019, the venue became a Registered Charity, reflecting its broader commitment to skills development and community engagement. From offering artists a platform to develop their craft to creating opportunities for learning and growth behind the scenes, Clwb is dedicated to fostering a space where creativity can flourish.

Looking ahead, the venue has its sights set on the future. In August 2023, Clwb submitted a planning application to redevelop its iconic home on Womanby Street. This ambitious project will expand its cultural offerings, allowing for larger performances, more workshops, and greater opportunities for training – further solidifying its role as a crucial stepping stone for Wales’ creative industry.
